“Ewwww!!!!! What is that?” (It should be noted that I hate exclamation points and think that they are overused in the English language. Don’t get used to them in my posts) That is the usual thing I hear when I first meet someone, usually from girls. And no it is not because I am hideously ugly or anything like that. It is because I dip. Yes, that’s right I dip. And I am not afraid to admit it nor will I be embarrassed by it. For those of you who do not know what dip is it basically is fine cut tobacco that you lodge between your lip and teeth. With it comes a great amount of spitting. This is not to be confused with chewing. I will not go into the difference between the two but they are two different things. Because of the fact that I dip I am usually persecuted and vilified by those that don’t. Even smokers have the audacity to give me shit on the subject. What is that all about? It’s the same substance but just used in different ways. That would be similar to someone who smokes joints giving a bong smoker shit about his drug usage.

What am I trying to say? Leave me alone about the subject. My habit doesn’t make other people’s clothes smell. And there is no second hand dip effects that I am aware of. The thing that really gets me is that people act like I am walking around with a penis on my forehead. “Don’t do that around me, it’s disgusting.” I am not hawking up loogies or coughing up blood here folks. There are plenty of more disgusting things that we as a public see on a regular basis. For example, breast feeding, overweight people wearing tight clothes, people with poor dental hygiene, and finally girls with saggy boobs that have THO and refuse to wear a bra. Those are just a few things that irk me more than seeing someone dip. “You know that is going to cause lip cancer.” I haven’t heard that one before. Thanks for the health update doctor. “Why do you do that? It’s gross.” Well if you must know I started probably like most smokers did, to get a buzz. Eventually over time it became an oral fixation. I truly do not believe that I am addicted to the nicotine. If I have something in my mouth like gum or seeds I have no urge at all.

Why is it considered rude or unacceptable to criticize a smoker but its ok to give me an ear full? Do people think smokers have heard enough and they get the point? It’s not like I am trying to recruit anyone to join the dark side of dip. I am just trying to enjoy my pinch and possibly get a buzz. If you see me dipping just leave the subject alone unless you want a pinch of dip. If you read this post and decide to let it motivate you to give me shit about dip then I will be motivated to dip in your drink the moment you walk away. Cheers.
